Fan works great, the universal monting attachment actually worked quite well. I mounted it to NVIDIA geforce 6600 video card, to replace old fan with wore-out hypro bearings. So far (2 weeks)it works very well, moves a ton of air, and is very quiet. I am using this in a computer that runs my video surveilance system so it is on 24hrs/365days.

My only complaints are; to clear the PCI card installed below this fan I had to remove the plastic fan cover, also my GPU had a two wire power connect, and this unit came with a 3 wire (no big deal I just spliced on the connector from the old unit.

"AeroCool just does not get it." 2009-09-10

Ok this is the fourth fan controller from Aero Cool that I have tried. They just dont get it. The key to a good fan controller is if it controls your fans automaticaly. This one does not. You can set an alarm temp but when reached the alarm will sound and the fan speed will increase. This is useless.

You need to increase the fan speed based on temperature not create an alarm. The fan speed and alarm should be seperate.

You could disable the alarm but then the touch screen becomes harder to use withoug the feedback clicks.

This controller looks pretty but I have found other cheaper solutions that work.

Wow, This is one hunk of copper! Runs about 150g more then rated board strength for AMD socket 462. So be extra careful when moving the CPU. Was quite pleased with The fast shipping, This GA-7DX© (2.2) was running 132 - 145 Deg. After installing Which requires total removal of the mother board, and mounting two base plates with a 4 hold MB, was tricky, you can't have any Capacitors taller than 15 mm (surprise)

or (0.59in) located under the CPU. This board was OK with that, but had a issue with the hold down clip and (1) a capacitor; the fan hold down clip has two holes on each side of the processor hold downs, this 2001 Millennia Max XP, clip cleared the power supply plug, but hit the capacitor next to the ram, but before I ran to Radio Shack, I removed the fan from the heat sink, and took the hold down clip to the shed, and cut off 1/8th " (HACK SAW REQUIRED) of the un-used second hole which would clear the capacitor. At that point- reassembly was required. the results were outstanding - CPU temp dropped 32 deg with Artic Silver 5. Over all - Would rate this as a Positive improvements @ $40 Bucks and 2 hours of time.

I love this fan controller. It's small so you could stick it inside or even outside your computer. It comes with double sided tape. It has smooth step-less variable speed adjustment. It also allows you to still be able to read the rpm speeds from your attached fan. It comes with a nice long wire so you could use it in super large computer cases if needed.

I purchased this controller because my 3-wire CPU fan doesn't allow speed control from the motherboard which has a 4 pin connecter. My fan is also quite expensive being a special low profile ball bearing unit with copper heat sink. This controller was the perfect solution for my problem and cheap too. This is a difficult item to review, but it performs wonderfully. It sucks hot air (with the assistance of two other Scythe fans) off of two overclocked QX9775's @ 3.8 Ghz on air and helps keep them below 140 degrees. *cough* Thermalright heatsinks *cough*.

The pro's first;

1. This fan moves an incredible amount of air.

2. Because it is 38 mm deep, it allows greater static pressure, which will pull air into your case.

3. Scythe makes quality products and this is no exception.

4. The Ultra Kaze comes in several different models, with varying CFM and noise levels.

The con's;

1. This fan is VERY loud, but you should know that from the description; this may not bother some people, but I have very sensitive hearing.

2. The fan works best as an exhaust fan.

3. This fan uses, as most other Scythe fans, a sleeve bearing, which isn't as durable as a double ball or HydroWave.

Overall, this is a quality product, and the cons I've mentioned have been issues for me, or things I've noticed. As with all other Scythe products I've used, I have been very satisfied with the craftsmanship and engineering, just ensure that you are comfortable with 40+ Db.

This is a great cooler, I recently dropped in a Q6600 to replace my overclocked E6600. Everything went well and the Q6600 was able to hit 3.6ghz easy (400x9). The only problem was that the quad core put a lot more strain on the FSB than the dual core so the northbridge was getting too hot, which was causing some instability at high load.

Actually installing this thing did not lower my idle temps very much (maybe 2-3C, idling at 38C now, was around 40) but the temperature raise under load has been dramatically improved. With the stock NB heatsink (fanless Gigabyte 965p-ds3) my load temps would be in the high 50C range, now they are around 43C, only a slight raise above the idle temp! And the system is stable at 3.6ghz now thanks to this little beast =)

The only thing to watch out for when installing this is to be sure to tighten it to the motherboard enough. When I first installed it was not tight enough and it actually was worse than the stock heatsink. I then tightened it so the top of the screw almost pokes out of the top of the fastening nut and everything works perfectly.

I got the Extreme Spirit II when I found that the passive heatsink I installed on the chipset was running very hot. It was hot enough to feel burning to the touch. The Extreme Spirit II came with all the accessories and screws needed for my motherboard. Since my board already had loop holes built in next to the chipset I just had to hook it on and tighten. The fan fun whisper quiet next to my loud Coolit Eliminator.

Before installing, my PC would crash constantly. This made my thermally flaky Asus PN5 MB- which has a HOT northbridge- work nice and stable. The static aluminum heat sink was almost 150°F; this is just a shade over body temperature.

I bought this to replace the fanless heatsink on my motherboard chipset which was getting a bit too hot for my tastes. The product worked pretty well at cooling the chipset, but the fan developed a nasty squeal after only a few months of operation. Around this time I also noticed a drop in system stability, presumably due to the fact that the chipset was overheating. The problem with fans this small is that the bearings tend to wear out pretty quickly.

I didn't bother trying to get it replaced under warranty because the hassle and cost isn't really worth it to me, so I just replaced it with a different heatsink that uses a much larger fan. I actually ended up not using a fan on the new heatsink and I haven't had any problems yet.

A very good Fan/Heat Sink for those who limit the weight load on the motherboard. This item has the bonus of not needing the replacement of the stock heat sink support (located underneath the motherboard). Not as quiet as an orb design, but I can't hear it through my antec P180 case anyways. I'm running an 104 watt CPU that this heat sink keeps well within the optimum operating temps.

I got today the HSF and replaced the original HSF with the SILET BOOST RX. Don't be fooled. It is not silet by any means. I would say it is even louder than the original stock fan. I own AMD 2000 Athlon XP, and it did not silence my box. Also The temperatures are still in mid 40's on idle.

I would say it is a waste of money. Get Zelman or something else. Not this one.

Bought this to replace the cooler in my HP/Compaq after the fan on the stock cooler started making the sounds of death. It'd be nice if OEM's used better quality coolers like these in their builds.

Makes an ideal replacement. It keeps my AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ at about 80 deg. F, average at idle, depending on current room temp. The highest I've seen it get was about 111 deg. F at 100% load.

Even at about 2,800 RPM, the fan is nice and quiet. At 3,000+ RPM the noise becomes slightly more noticeable but it doesn't bother me.

I'd say the only con with this cooler is that the fins are so compact that dust tends to build up quickly between them but it's not something a compressed air can duster can't take care of. A few quick shots and the fins are clean.

If you need a Socket AM2 cooler, check out this Thermaltake K450, you won't be disappointed.

The USB cable is on the wrong side (left), and the fan is placed so that it does not cool the hotest part of the MBA. Does not sit well on my lap and rocks back and forth when placed on a hard surface. Also must be very careful when sliding the unit shut, the USB cable can easily get cut. Does cool the unit by 5 to 7 degrees.

Does NOT fit Macbook Air. An aluminum sink is a good idea, but the problem is that it does NOT contact the aluminum (MBA sits on the rubber bumpers) of the MBA so it does not transfer heat. Fan is also on the wrong side of the device for MBA. Fan is located on the right side of the cooler, but the hottest part of the MBA is on the left side. Price is also MUCH too high for what it is and how it performs. Would be better if it had fans on BOTH sides.

Aside from that, the fan is quiet and the USB port does not get taken up by the plug.

It could be better in a few ways, but this cooler has a lot going for it. It's small and with the wings slid back together is even smaller. It's very light weight. It's even cool looking.

The fan doesn't seem like it does much good, so I usually don't bother plugging it in. (When you do plug it in, you can plug another USB into it.)

I mostly use this if I'm working in bed, where it not only dissipates at least some of the heat but it also keeps the air vents from getting blocked.

Pro's:

1. Becomes slightly warm, presumably by drawing heat from the MacBook and not from it's own fan motor

Con's:

1. Does not fit well with a MacBook Air (partially obscures video-out port)

2. Somewhat awkward to setup (each time used, not once)

3. No "stick" to keep it and the Air from slipping out of place with each other

4. Does not balance properly with an Air, i.e., requires weight of one's hands on the keyboard to keep the Air grounded

5. Roughly as loud as the MacBook Air's fan at full RPM--but the Zefyr is always at full RPM, unlike the MBA exhaust that adjusts to need

It doesn't do much, what little it does is done awkwardly, and it looks nice when not in use.

I bought the silver one hoping that it would alleviate the second core shutdown problem with my mac book air. As some of you may already know, mac book air has an overheating problem when connected to an external monitor. I can never watch video with the full screen for more than 15 mins with my air. It would overheat and shuts down the second CPU core to cool down, then the notebook becomes unusable. I bought my air to use it for iphone application development. Since compiling codes takes up full CPU and you have to compile your codes pretty often, I cannot continue using my air for more than 30 mins for development.

So, within 15 mins, I again see the core shutdown. The temperature of my air is over 60 and fan runs at 6200 rpm. The body of my air is hot, still my zefyr is just a little warm. The material they use for heat transfer looks and feels very similar to the heat sink tapes you use for CPUs and the heat sink tapes are designed to work with firm contact between the CPU and heat sink.

The design of zefyr failed since mac book air or any note book would not have enough weight to make the firm contact to the zefyr heat sink.

Waste of money!!

Excellent. Install was a little different because you have to remove the mounting bracket for the conventional fan/heat-sink to install this low profile unit. It was a little unexpected but well worth the effort. My box was too tight for a conventional fan/heat-sink so this was a life saver. It works great, it's very quiet, and it keeps my CPU cool. I looked for a while to find a good low profile heat-sink and this was the best of the best. Great product at a great price.

The construction is awesome (I haven't turn it on so I don't know how quiet it is). The price is right.

BUT it doesn't fit in a mini ITX motherboard, at least not in a Zotac GeForce 9300 ITX. It is 1.5 cm wider than it should. The Intel stock fan is 9cm wide and this one is around 10.5 cm...Bummer. I should've open the HTPC and measure the Intel fan before ordering this one. But since it says "mini itx compatible" I bought it without checking.

"Nice Low profile design, too bad the fans are defective" 2009-08-31

This cooler is probably one of the best options out there cooling the Core i7 CPU in a low profile case (the stock intel cooler for the i7 is a joke). The problem with this model is the fans speed control function is not working right. When plugged into the 4-pin power plug on my X58 motherboard, the fan would not respond to the smart fan settings in the BIOS menu. This results in the fan defaulting to 100% speed, which makes my computer sound like a vacuum cleaner. All my other 4-pin coolers work just fine with this motherboard. I tried a second replacement from Amazon and it was defective too. I contacted the manufacturer, Thermaltake, and they said it should be working. Another big name online retailer that sells this has scores of user reviews complaining about the same problem with the fan control. You could always use a manual fan speed controller, but I didn't want to hassle with that. Given the fact I would probably never find a properly functioning version of this cooler, I opted to return both for a refund. Also worth noting is Thermaltake went with a 70mm fan size. This is an oddball size, so it's very hard to find a fan to use as a replacement. The bottom line is if you need a good low profile cooler and don't mind the noise, this is your ticket. Otherwise, you might want to look at some of the older Core2 Duo coolers that have adapter kits available for use on the i7 CPU.

In this application it is imperative to keep some air movement over the hard drives to avoid drive failure from overheating while contributing as little noise as possible to the environment. First one = DOA...

I wasted $35 for the product, $20 next day shipping, $ to return the product + time consuming.

The USB wire is loosely fit on both the fan + the laptop. Product is made from China. I just don't understand. They have been making coolers for years and it hasn't improve one bit...

I am going to exchange it, give it another try. ....

Amazon shipped me another one. This time the fan works but the USB is bad. If you accidentally touch the USB, the power turn off.I can't even feel the air blow from the fan with max speed.

Idle temp: 53 degree

With fan: 48 degree. I did not run any application, I left it there for 3 hours only get down to 48 degree.

Amazon has excellent customer service.

Solid aluminum, 2 fans, and a USB port. What's not to like? This stand works great, keeps my MacBook from overheating, and is pretty much bulletproof. Oh, and it looks nice, too. Simple, just the way it should be. The only glitch I've noticed is that it likes to be plugged directly into my laptop, rather than into a USB hub. Not a big deal, but it does use up one of my USB ports on the machine, which is sometimes a hassle when I need to plug in a thumb drive, or similar.

I bought this awhile back and I gotta say its great! It works very well and is extremely sturdy. My only con is that its not lightweight, but I knew that when I bought it and I would still buy it again, it does what is should do and keeps on running day and night since I almost always have my laptop on. I give it a 4 for being way better than most ( I have owned a few other types) but dinged it one star for the weight. All the same, unless you really move your laptop all the time into different rooms, leaving it as the base for your laptop to sit on where you keep it most of the time should be fine since most of us move our laptops onto our laps or other places for short periods, probably don't need to move the fan unless you are really a long while in some other location. You certainly could go ahead and move this stand notebook cooler too, I mostly leave it sitting in my media room with my laptop there on it and use it from there. I have used it on my mac book and my hp and it does great.

I have a HP Dv5-1160us, 4 gigs of ram, 256 dedicated Nvida Ram, 360 gig HD, and 2 ghz dual core Intel. This notebook tends to run quite hot. So I ordered this one because other reviews said you can use it on your lap. This cooler is in the moderate to high range depending on your budget. It is quiet, it DEFINITELY keeps the bottom of the lappie cool - probably will help to extend the life of the laptop. The only real downside depends on your application. The downside could be the size, weight and bulk. If you are mostly going to be keeping it on your desk - it is ideal. It's very well made. Hauling it around with the laptop from room to room or office to office is workable. It's a bit bulky, but it's workable. Hauling it around outside the home/office is another matter - mostly because of it's bulk. But if MOST of the time using this device is in the home or office - I'd recommend it.

It is so extremely powerful that, if you run it outside of the case on a flat surface, it will pull itself forward! I used it and found that it kept my system at a consistent, cool temperature. This cooler is AWESOME!! I'm very surprised that a major computer manufacturer like Dell/HP does not have an account with these guys. But I'm almost glad that they aren't due to the fact that they have to make a relative efficient processor with a lesser efficient cooler! My computer is running at least 10 degrees cooler than prior. My computer used to crash all the time after long periods of being on... However, I accidentally left my computer on for the whole weekend without any crash from overheating.

The only reason that I am rating it as 4**** rather than 5***** is because my Socket A/462 eMachines 3070 didn't work with their brackets. I had to build a custom made adjustment from my 3070 bracket and attach it to the Zalman or else it would have been 0 *'s. Just a few drill holes into the Zalman's base and some bending and forcing for compatibility to my original bracket. Make sure it works with your computer's motherboard first!! It had stated that this was SocketA compatible however my motherboard doesn't allow any hole mounts and was blocked from installing the cooler easily. I'm sure this works with other SocketA computers well, but I just didn't luck out. Tiger's Direct even generously offered to accept a return. Well-made Korean product. Maybe Samsung and these guys will work together in the future or something. I got the AlCu version because even the 92mm is over the processor's recommended weight by a bit. 92mm is pretty damn large with the metal wrapping by the way and is already a very tight fit that needed custom adjustments around my power source.

Unless you do a lot of gaming or something, I can't imagine why you would even need the 120mm gigantic 7700 version. Unless first of all you have the room to fit the larger version, I would go with the 92mm only. I would avoid the Cu/copper version altogether due to its even heavier 1.5X weight over the AlCu and that it only cools a degree or two cooler.

Again, anybody with a computer, keep your computer running cool and efficient with this Zalman. My first deluxe option was to go with liquid cooling: The Zalman runs only a few degrees warmer than Liquid Cooling!! Save > $100 bucks and prevent maintenance of the liquid version.

Noise Level: Very Quiet!! I didn't even realize how much quieter it would have been because my original fan was bearably whiny and slightly annoying but I didn't think much of it and accepted it as part of my computer experience.

Completely different experience with the Zalman as it is MUCH quieter!! It is virtually silent compared to the original. If I had to guage it, I would guess it is 1.5X to 2X quieter to the original! So much so, if I went back to the original fan, it would probably drive me NUTS! It was just one of those things that you didn't know, you knew or found out until you had something to compare it to after the new experience.

I use this fan on my AMD Athlon XP 2100+. My old after-market fan died after 4 years of constant use so I needed a replacement. The Zalman CNPS700B fan quietly keeps my gaming/3D modeling computer nice and chilly even during 100% processing load. It was easy to install. It weighs just a little bit more than the Asus A7X motherboard recommends but there have been no problems. This product is quality built. It might be more expensive than other heat-sink/fan options but Zalman products (especially this one) is well worth it.

This cooler is AWESOME!! My computer used to crash all the time after long periods of being on... However, I accidentally left my computer on for the whole weekend without any crash from overheating. I concurrently installed this with a Zalman as I was looking for an overall cooling upgrade to cool my computer.

The only reason that I am rating it as 4**** rather than 5***** is because it is not a perfect fit into my double hard drive case. It sticks out a bit. Well-made product and a great addition to cooling your computer. .

Noise Level: Quiet!! I did not notice any relevant dB level increase.

I strongly suggest upgrading the HD cooler as well as the Zalman CPU cooler in an effort to cool your computer and increase efficiency. My computer is a different cool animal after the installation. It just forces you to appreciate the importance of cooling an electronic device in basically anything.

"Great WCS at a great price!!!" 2009-10-19

I bought this water cooling system and I love it. I was worried, as there are a lot of negative reviews of this at NewEgg for problems with the water block cracking and the pump not working. I attribute the issues with the cracked water blocks to user error - they overtightened either the nuts holding the block down or the nuts holding the tubes tight. Either way - just don't overtighten them and you will be fine - same goes for any WCS. As for the issues with the pump, that might have been user error as well - running it dry - I'm not sure. All I know is that I haven't had any problems with this system.

It is HUGE, though. I have an Antec three hundred gaming case. It's a mid-tower, and I had to mount the radiator on the outside. This wasn't hard, though, and doesn't look bad as it is at the back. The pump and resevoir fit in the bottom of the case fine. The only time I noticed it wasn't circulating, I had temps of about 40-45 then, it was due to a kink in the tubing. I fixed that (by shortening the tubing so that can't happen again), and now I have temps of 39 with a medium load, about 42 maxed. This is with a E5200 (2.5Ghz standard) overclocked to 3.2Ghz. So, the chip is maxed as far as it can be and still be stable with my board and RAM, and I am NOWHERE even CLOSE to overheating. It runs 24/7 without so much as a hiccup. I would recommend this to anyone that has the skill to install it - it does require the motherboard be removed to mount the hardware.

It really cools your cpu down a lot. I get 38 C in the summer, and 30 C in the winter. When playing games like COD it can get up to 44 C. The only bad thing about this is the pump. It will die in about 3 years. I'm glad I purchased the thermaltake flow meter (that install in a drive bay) to warn me of a bad pump.. The product still cooled my cpu without a pump for 2 months so its worth every penny. I suppose the water is still in the block. Just make sure you test this for leaks before you fire it up in your PC. I was able to get another thermaltake pump to fix the pump that broke. Was easy to just replace the pump with just another thermaltake pump.

I bought a second one of these because not many store are stocking this and I might want to use this great product on another case that I have.

The thing to look out for is the vga block that thermaltake sells for graphics card. The vga copper block is not bolted tight when it comes out the box and it will leak.. Its an elective item. I'm not going to water cool any graphics card since they have made a lot of advances with air cooling.

It's really easy to install the only thing I don't like is that you never know when to stop screwing things, I thought my motherboard was gonna brake and I bent one of the radiator tubes, so be careful, NEVER apply more strenght than what your hand can handle, don't apply tools !

I bought this product to start testing a system i custom made time ago. I didn't overlook the internet, searching for information to know if this cooling device would fit in my case, but i took the risk, just to find out it didn't fit in. After some case modifications was set and ready to rock. My Intel Pentium D Extreme now is running solid at 4.6Ghz at 50 Celsius idle and 54 load (tested about 20 minutes doing some rendering with Blender). But again, you should measure your case before buying if you have a middle-case or full-tower slim (the last one is my case) just to be prepare what are you going to be dealing.

Another con is the liquid coolant is conductive (tested) so if for some reason you install something or don't read carefully the instruction you might loose your hardware, buy some zalman non conductive coolant and you'll be fine.

Again, excellent product.

A good water cooling solution, but the instructions could be more clear and you'll definitely want an extra hand and a good adjustable open-ended wrench for the connectors. The cooling is decent, as my E6600 OC'ed to 3.3GHz will go up to a max of 54C after an hour of Orthos and will drop down to around 31-33C at idle and barely above that most of the time. The noise is not bad at all, and you can adjust the fan speed with a dial on a PCI slot bracket. If you have an Asus Striker Extreme you will have to use the extra fan in a different location than the manual specifies due to space constraints unless you mount the radiator outside the case. I placed the fan on the top copper heatsink on the mobo, and it's worked good so far.

Getting ThermalTake to replace the pump was trivial and easy, but note that they won't uphold the warranty if you buy from a vendor on Amazon instead of directly from Amazon itself. My only other complaint is that out of the box my pump didn't work, and it was a PITA to get it all setup only to find the pump didn't work.

My advice is is that you cut a small section of the tube and loop the pump to the reservoir and fill it up and test it that way, instead of hooking everything up and hoping for the best. It's far easier to test it, and you can even route the power connector out the back of your rig so you can still use your computer *and* test the pump at the same time.

I was disappointed to find that the meters are not illuminated, something I guess I took for granted. I emailed Sound Around's Tech Support department twice to verify that the meters were not lighted and were not, in fact, defective, and have gotten NO REPLY of any sort.

The unit has developed a little squeek when I turn it off. It sounds like perhaps the fan bearings need more lube. I have no idea but this does not bode well for a one month old unit.

Honestly, I would have returned it but it weighs 18 pounds and UPS shipping back to Amazon would have run $25 or more. (I received it from Amazon with free shipping.)

The bottom line: You can do a lot better than this power suppply.

I've owned this for a month now and I'm thrilled. This power supply is outstanding for what I use it for (R/C Hobbies). Maybe a bit of overkill until I get into charging larger battery packs. It's a bit hefty (23 pounds) for transport to and from a track, but it handles everything I throw at it and stays cool without a lot of noise. It accepts the banana plugs from my charger so I don't have to mess with wrapping bare wire. Keep in mind if you need to supply something less than 12V, you may want to go with it's little brother the PS26KX which still provides 22-25 AMPs and adjusts from 6-15V. Overall, I highly recommend this power supply over smaller (<20AMP) systems that many R/C stores try to push on people. I little bit more money will save a lot of headaches.

I have had this installed for about 3/4 of a year now. I am using it on a Asus P5Q Pro MB with LGA775 E8400 3.0GHz Dual Core CPU in the Antec P182 case and ATI 4870. I leave my box on 24x7 with the case fans on medium. My bios always reports the CPU temp at ~45 degrees Celsius. It comes with a fan and a metal clip to hold it. The clip is strong and thus a little hard to get on. I accidentally put my fan on backwards, but it was easy to flip around (clip still strong). The fan is more quiet than the ones on my case even if I switch the case fans to low speed. One note, I did not use the thermal compound that came in the box or Arctic Silver. I used a newer product called Arctic Cooling MX-2.

The best CPU cooler I have ever bought. Lighter weight, good size, user replaceable fans. It honestly cools my CPU 2 degrees centigrade cooler than the ambient temperature of my computer tower. I overclocked my Intel E8400 cpu by 1.0 GHz for a month and it still kept the processor below case temp.

Hello, this CPU cooler From Noctua is by far the best of the best...i have heat problems with my pc: Q6600 @3.0Ghz, 4GB Ram, 8800GT. The temps are inthe range of 52C idle and 69 Load, with the NinjaB a massive cooler and 2 120mm fan inthe cooler but the machine runs very hot!! Im tired of this adn decide to buy this cooler, the installation is easy(i have to deattach my board) but the thermal compound, the retention system and the instructions are the best. It took me 20 minutes at all, but the results:

The cooler is small, and come with 1 120mm silent fan, i add another from my old cooler (noctua s12) and the temps: 40C idle and 55 Load!! i reccomend to every person that want the best of the best and dont want water cooling. 10 stars!!

I ordered 2 of these because they work great and you can't even hear them run.

They are cooling my receiver and Dish DVR. Look great in a stereo rack as they match exactly with all the other black equipment. You can't even tell there is one in there because it's only 1 inch high.

Highly recommended if you have a receiver in a media cabinet; however this item came with NO instructions and if you put it together like in the picture, the fans blow air out and not down into the equipment. In addition, you may be better off buying the case alone and outfitting it with better fans. These are of low quality. And, oh... there is no power switch!

First of all, Scythe has 4 models of S-Flex fans, SFF21D, SFF21E, SFF21F, SFF21G, with increasing RPMs and of course noise levels. I have SFF21E and SFF21F, one in front as intake and another in the back as exhaust. Both fans are high quality and run very quietly. The back one runs at ~1000 RPM due to the speed control on my motherboard but it still generates quite a bit of air flow. I'm very happy with this product.

I use a pair of these to move air through my audio/video receiver and cable company DVR. They are in a cabinet with a glass door and I was worried about heat build-up. I had already drilled some large holes in the back (top and bottom) of the cabinet and in the shelf under the two devices. I placed one fan above each device and the air is pulled through. I used the switched plug on the back of each device to turn the fans on. I wired them up using some 12VDC power supplies from defunct electronics.

Just ignore the yellow wire coming from the fan. That is used for feedback of the speed if you are controlling them with a thermostat. Just hook up the red and black wires.

Very slient. Can't hear anything outside the cabinet when they are on.

The only complaint I have is that the fan was a little noisy the first time it started up. That may just be that it needed to shake out the cobwebs. Since then, it's performed fine, and very quiet. It was easy to install and the kit came with everything you might need--fan, two heat sinks, adhesive tape, pins, and thermal goo.

Still, the noise thing makes me a little nervous.
